Xmas Wall Hanging

Hi Bloggers,
Well another week nearer christmas.
It is certainly all systems go with the Christmas Adverts on TV, "I'm a celebrity Get me out of here" heralds the beginning of the season, the shops are full of goodies and the weather has certainly given us plenty to think about. Not long now!
Last week I showed you what delegates at the Oyster Papercrafts /Sincerely yours retreat made on Saturday. Well this is the Sunday project by my group. A christmas wall hanging.

I kept this very simple by using three white squares (6", 5" and 4")these were strung together to make the base of the wall hanging.
We made grey frames using the We R Memory Keepers Frame board. Each was 1/4" less than the white corresponding square and varied in width (1/4", 1/2" and 3/4"width).

The top square (the smallest) was made  by stamping crafty individuals Santas Sleigh on to patterned paper with versafine ink. We then embossed with clear powder to sharpen the image. Glitter could be added to the stars.

The centre square used a co-ordinating paper. We stamped the Deep Red Vintage Merry Christmas on to a white oval, coloured it and attached to the centre square with foam pads.

The final (largest) square, again used a co-ordinating paper. We stamped the C.C.Designs Making a list stamp on to white card. We coloured the image and fussy cut the image. This was then placed on to the square with Foam pads.
On the day this was all we had time for  but the frames could easily be decorated with either snowflakes, xmas flowers and foliage or left plain. Santa's boots could be covered with glossy accents and santa's fur decorated with glitter.

I hope you enjoyed this blog.
Take Care.

Santas Sleigh

Hi all you bloggers,
Welcome to all those who are new to my blog.
Well what an exhausting weekend!
I started by travelling to Daventry on Friday morning. Once there we prepared the venue for a weekend of crafting. In the evening we had a make and take for all participants. Saturday workshops all day followed by a crafty lock in in the evening, then more crafting Sunday plus the journey home. All this punctuated at regular intervals by food and drink........What for?
Well I was helping out at the Sincerely Yours/Oyster paper crafts weekend retreat in Daventry.
Good company, and crafting made it a wonderful experience.
What did we make?
On Saturday the delegates attended three different workshops lead by Martine, Barbara and myself. My group made Santa's sleigh!

We started by taking a piece of red card 7.5"x8.5", scored at 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 6, 7and 8inches along the
long side and  0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 5, 6, 7 inches across. All score lines were burnished and then the corners cut
away as shown. This was folded as shown in the pictures below.

We then folded the card to make the drawer of the matchbox.

We then took a piece of card 3 5/8" x 8" and made a wrap.

Next we attached a strip of acetate to each side of the box.
Using the Precious Marieke Spirit of Christmas Spirited Reindeer
we cut six reindeer,  distressed the edges with a brown distress
ink and attached them to the acetate.

We then used the MISTI stamping tool to stamp and heat emboss the die cut sleigh pieces.
These were attached to each side of the matchbox. The stamp and die used was  Heartfelt  Ornate Sleigh.

The back and front of the sleigh was made from two pieces of card, 3" x 3: and 3" x 2".
I cut a fancy edge with a
spellbinders die. These were attached to the front and back of the sleigh.

The sleigh is now complete and can be used to hold Sweets, Pot pourri, pine cones or other christmas
decorations.

If you would like a deeper box you could stamp gifts on to card and attach to the sides of the sleigh.
I used the Heartfelt Gift Wrapped Presents  stamp and die.

I also stamped a snowman from Heartfelt Frolicking Frosty Stamp to embellish.
I do hope you like this blog, and thanks to all those delegates for making it a superb weekend.
Take Care

Roses are Red

Hi fellow Bloggers,
Well back from my holidays to winter! I hope you are all toastie and warm in this cold snap we are having.
Another simple card using the Roses are Red stamp by Honeydoo stamps. I Just stamped on to white card, added a bow of ribbon , matted and layered ont Burgundy and Gold Card. I added a small lable for the sentiment.

I do find that a lot of the honey doo stamps speak for themselve=s and need very little embellishing. I wish you all well, Take Care

Buttercup blooms

Hi Bloggers,

Welcome to you all both old and new.

I love this simple card, very easy to make. I mad the frame using spellbinders grand squares, which I embelished with gold corners ( Scandinavian border and corner by Sue Wilson. I used Sue wilson Frames and Tags Grace for the centre embellishment. Flowers were made from Buttercup Blossom Stamps By Honey Doo Stamps, which I embossed with clear embossing powder and painted with Mica also by Honey Doo Stamps.

Keep Well Janet

Lily of the Valley

Hi Bloggers
Hi everyone, here is a very simple card I made using the Lily of the valley Stamp by honey doo stamps. I think the stamp is beautiful and does not need a lot of embellishing. Keep it simple and enjoy its beauty.......a little like the flower when it is out in the garden

Have a great week, take care.
